In a tragic incident in Varanasi, a school teacher was killed following a violent confrontation over a parking space. The attack occurred on Thursday at the Matri Chhaya Apartment in the Bhelupur area, where the victim, Praveen Jha, was assaulted with bricks and iron rods by three individuals, including his neighbor, Adarsh Singh.

According to police reports, the attack was premeditated. Adarsh Singh, along with two accomplices from Chandauli district—19-year-old Karan Gaud and his friend Satish Patel—planned the assault after ongoing disputes regarding parking had escalated. Witnesses noted that tensions had been high between Jha and Singh, with frequent arguments over the shared parking area.

On the night of the incident, an eyewitness recounted that Adarsh was honking in the parking lot, prompting Jha to voice his objections. Following a brief verbal exchange, both men returned to their respective apartments. Shortly thereafter, Adarsh summoned Jha downstairs, where the three assailants launched a brutal attack. Despite attempts by bystanders to intervene, Jha was severely beaten until he collapsed.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime Sarwan T confirmed that both the victim and the accused resided in the same building, with Jha living on the third floor and Adarsh on the second. The police quickly mobilized, forming four teams that successfully apprehended the suspects within three hours of the incident. The weapons used in the attack were recovered, and CCTV footage corroborated the sequence of events.

Adarsh Singh is the son of Duniya Ram Singh, a former Vice Chancellor of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology in Kanpur. Authorities have clarified that his father had no involvement in the crime. Adarsh, who works as a Chief Marketing Officer in a private firm, had been residing in the flat purchased by his father two decades ago.

All three suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue, with further evidence, including CCTV footage, being analyzed.
