**Tragic Wall Collapse Claims Life of Three-Year-Old in Karnataka**

A heartbreaking incident occurred early Monday morning in Belagavi, Karnataka, where a three-year-old girl tragically lost her life after a wall collapsed on her during heavy rainfall. The incident took place in Mahalingeshwar Colony, Gokak town, while Keerthila Nagesh Poojari was asleep with her four-year-old sister. The rear wall of their home gave way, resulting in the immediate death of Keerthila and injuring her sister.

Fortunately, their parents, who were resting in a separate room, were unharmed. The injured child has since been admitted to a local hospital for treatment. Local police from the Gokak Town Station responded to the scene, and the young girl’s body has been transferred to the mortuary at Gokak Government Hospital.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Belagavi and Dharwad districts, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds. This tragic event echoes a similar incident that occurred on May 19 in Bengaluru, where a 35-year-old woman named Shashikala lost her life due to a collapsing compound wall, likely weakened by overnight rain. Shashikala’s family, originally from Shahapur in Yadgir district, is now left to cope with the aftermath of this devastating loss.

As the region braces for continued adverse weather conditions, authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
