**Headline:** Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau Investigates Engineer for Accumulating Over Rs 11.5 Crore in Assets

The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has launched an investigation into Ashok Kumar Jangid, a Superintending Engineer with the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) in Banswara, for allegedly amassing assets exceeding Rs 11.5 crore. This figure represents a staggering 161% increase over his legitimate income, prompting the ACB to take action.

As part of ‘Operation Bekhauf,’ the ACB conducted raids on Friday at multiple locations associated with Jangid, including his residences, commercial properties, and mineral lease sites across various cities such as Jaipur, Kotputli, Udaipur, Ajmer, Tonk, and Jaisalmer. The operation was spearheaded by Deputy Superintendent of Police Parmeshwarlal from the ACB’s Bhiwadi unit.

Investigators have linked Jangid and his family to at least 54 immovable properties situated in 19 prime locations, including notable areas like Banipark and Vaishali Nagar in Jaipur. The properties include 19 registered in Jangid’s name, three under his wife Sunita Sharma, and 32 in the name of his son, Nikhil Jangid.

In addition to real estate, Jangid is accused of significant investments in mineral leases and industrial machinery. The ACB estimates that substantial funds were allocated for the purchase of crushers, dumper trucks, and other mining equipment for operations conducted under his son’s name. Nikhil Jangid operates businesses such as UN Minerals and Shree Balaberi Balaji Granite Mines and Minerals in Udaipur, Tonk, and Ajmer.

The ACB also scrutinized 22 bank accounts linked to Jangid, revealing a combined balance of Rs 21 lakh, alongside expenditures totaling Rs 30 lakh for the education and coaching of his children. Properties raided included a shop, a residence in Jaipur, a farmhouse, and several mineral lease sites registered under his son’s name. Searches were also conducted at Jangid’s official office in Banswara and his residences in Kotputli and Banswara.

This investigation highlights the ongoing efforts of the ACB to combat corruption within government ranks and ensure accountability among public officials.
