**Headline:** Bharuch Police Expose Fraudulent Marriage and Divorce Scheme for Illegal UK Immigration

The Bharuch police have recently uncovered a fraudulent scheme involving fake marriages and divorces, allegedly designed to facilitate illegal immigration to the United Kingdom. The investigation led to the registration of a case against four individuals, including a lawyer, following a tip-off related to an application submitted to the Palej police.

The investigation revealed that counterfeit marriage documents were used to enable travel to the UK, with subsequent creation of fake divorce orders arising from financial disputes. A resident of Jambusar, Rizwan Ismail Meda, falsely claimed that a UK-based woman, Taslimabanu Ismail Karbhari, was his wife. Meda allegedly obtained a forged marriage registration certificate to apply for a UK visa, enlisting the help of an agent, Soeb Daud Ikhariya, to secure a dependent visa by presenting Taslimabanu as his spouse.

In February 2024, Taslimabanu reportedly presented the forged marriage certificate to the agent, successfully bringing Meda to the UK on a dependent visa. However, financial disagreements soon emerged, prompting the creation of additional forged documents.

Investigators have also implicated a lawyer, Sajid Kothia, originally from Kanthariya village and currently residing in Canada, who allegedly prepared a fake divorce order purportedly issued by a Bharuch court. This document was presented as authentic with the assistance of Taslimabanu’s cousin, Faisal.

Upon confirming the forgery of the marriage and divorce documents, the Palej police registered a case based on the findings. The Bharuch police have shared details of the accused, some of whom are currently located in the UK and Canada, with the British High Commission and embassy.

Authorities are now probing whether this group has executed similar fraudulent schemes in Bharuch or other districts to facilitate illegal immigration.
