**Headline:** PIB Refutes False Claims of Indian Army’s Defeat by Pakistan’s Technology

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has categorically rejected claims circulating on various Pakistani propaganda accounts, which alleged that India’s Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Rahul R Singh, admitted to a defeat against Pakistan’s electronic warfare and Chinese intelligence systems during recent hostilities. These unfounded assertions were accompanied by a photograph of Lt Gen Singh and fabricated quotes, including statements like, “Pakistan’s electronic warfare and C4 intelligence capability truly surprised us, and Chinese technology played a big role in defeating India.”

Several posts labeled as ‘breaking news’ echoed similar sentiments, suggesting that an Indian general had acknowledged the effectiveness of Chinese technology in Pakistan’s supposed victory. One account even proclaimed, “Top Indian military general says Pakistan’s electronic warfare and C4 intelligence capability truly surprised us.” Many of these posts attempted to link the alleged comments to Operation Sindoor, thereby amplifying the narrative across various social media platforms.

In response to these viral claims, PIB issued a fact-check, clarifying that Lt Gen Singh never made such statements and labeled the quotes as “completely baseless.” The bureau emphasized, “Pakistani propaganda accounts are claiming that Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Rahul R Singh has said ‘Pakistan’s electronic warfare and C4 intelligence capability truly surprised us, and Chinese technology played a big role in defeating India.’ These claims are fake! No such statement has been made by the Deputy Chief of Army Staff.”

During a recent conference on ‘New Age Military Technologies’ organized by FICCI, Lt Gen Rahul Singh discussed the significant influence of Chinese technology on Pakistan’s military capabilities, revealing that approximately 81% of Pakistan’s military hardware is sourced from China. He stated, “If you look at statistics, in the last five years, 81% of the military hardware that Pakistan is acquiring is all Chinese… China is able to test its weapons against other weapons, so it’s like a live lab available to them.” He further noted that during DGMO-level talks, Pakistan had referenced real-time intelligence inputs from China.

India initiated Operation Sindoor on May 7 as a counter-response to a terror attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, primarily targeting tourists. Following the operation, intense clashes erupted between India and Pakistan, with Pakistan launching drone attacks across several Indian border states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. A ceasefire was declared on May 10, and it was later revealed that Islamabad had sought de-escalation within 48 hours.
