Pregnant actress Michelle Keegan and her husband Mark Wright reportedly took refuge in a locked bedroom during a home invasion at their mansion. Essex Police were notified of the break-in around 6:20 PM on Tuesday, with four suspects allegedly forcing their way in and searching the property before escaping. Officers arrived at the scene in Ongar within eight minutes.
According to initial reports, Wright, 38, heard a patio window shatter and quickly hid with his 37-year-old wife until the police arrived. The intruders reportedly fled without taking anything after hearing Wright shout. The couple’s advanced security system alerted the police, and the suspects were described as wearing balaclavas and dressed in black.
An Essex Police spokesperson stated, “We are continuing to support and safeguard the victims and are conducting high-visibility patrols in the area. We are exploring several lines of inquiry, including forensic opportunities, CCTV, and witness statements. Anyone with information should contact us as soon as possible.”
The couple has been sharing their journey of creating their “dream home” on their Instagram page, which has garnered 664,000 followers.
Keegan is known for her role as Tina McIntyre on Coronation Street and has appeared in the BBC military drama Our Girl and the Sky comedy Brassic. More recently, she starred in Ten Pound Poms, which follows a group of Brits emigrating to Australia after World War II. Wright, a former semi-professional footballer, gained fame on The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) and has also worked as a TV presenter, including a stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2011.
Representatives for the couple have chosen not to comment on the incident.
