**iD Fresh Foods Aims for ₹1,000 Crore Revenue Milestone**
iD Fresh Foods, established in 2005, initially focused on selling idli and dosa batter in Bengaluru, which continues to be a significant revenue source for the company. However, the founders are now determined to diversify their offerings and transform iD Fresh into a ₹1,000 crore enterprise.
Swapna Suman, a textile business owner, has relied on iD Fresh’s idli batter for the past three years, appreciating its convenience compared to the labor-intensive process of making batter at home. She describes it as a kitchen staple, noting its quality and appropriate quantity for two meals. Living in central Bengaluru, she purchases the batter monthly but has yet to explore the full range of products, which includes coffee decoction, parathas, and chutneys.
In the competitive consumer food market, iD Fresh has established itself as a household name, with its unique green and yellow packaging becoming synonymous with dosa batter. Despite its strong brand recognition, the company still generates most of its revenue from idli-dosa batter, which has limited its growth potential.
P.C. Musthafa, co-founder and global CEO of iD Fresh Foods, acknowledges this challenge, stating, “Batter will be a ₹500-crore business for us (currently around ₹300 crore), and parathas will reach ₹300 crore before we pursue an IPO in 2027. However, I cannot rely solely on these two products; I need to introduce two to three more to scale the business.”
Since its inception, iD Fresh has secured approximately $120 million in funding from investors, including Helion Venture Partners, NewQuest Capital Partners, and Premji Invest, and is currently valued at around $270 million. After reporting a net loss of ₹23 crore in FY23, the company achieved profitability in FY24, with a 16% increase in operating revenue to ₹396 crore. iD Fresh aims to boost this figure to ₹700 crore in the current financial year (FY25) and is focused on surpassing the ₹1,000 crore revenue milestone.
