Philadelphia Eagles rookie Cooper DeJean emerged from Friday’s Super Bowl celebrations with unforgettable memories and a potential scar. The standout cornerback sported a noticeable gash above his left eye during the Super Bowl parade in downtown Philadelphia. Unlike general manager Howie Roseman, who was struck by a wayward beer can, DeJean’s injury was self-inflicted. “Might be the best day of my life. I got a little battle scar going on,” DeJean shared with FOX Sports during the parade. He humorously explained, “I hit myself with this big a– chain,” referring to the oversized Bud Light chain draped around his neck.
A Philadelphia fan seemed to capture the moment of the injury, which occurred while DeJean was spraying beer into the crowd. The fan later shared the photo with DeJean on social media, to which he confirmed, “Yes. Battle scars. I love this city.” Drafted by the Eagles in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, DeJean made an immediate impact in his inaugural NFL season, highlighted by an impressive performance in the Eagles’ 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. On his 22nd birthday, he intercepted Patrick Mahomes for a touchdown, making history as the first player in Super Bowl history to intercept a pass or score a touchdown on his birthday.
Eagles GM Howie Roseman also ended up bloodied after the parade, with images showing a significant gash on his forehead, which was later attributed to an errant beer can thrown his way. At the parade’s conclusion, Roseman declared to the fans, “I bleed for this city!
