ED seizes Al-Falah University’s assets valued at Rs 140 crore

**Enforcement Directorate Freezes Al-Falah University Assets Amid Investigation**

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets worth Rs 140 crore belonging to Al-Falah University as part of an ongoing investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). This action comes in the wake of the university being scrutinized by the National Investigative Agency (NIA) following the tragic Red Fort blast in Delhi on November 10, which resulted in the deaths of 13 individuals.

Located on a 54-acre campus in the Dhauj area of Faridabad, the university’s buildings, including those of various schools, departments, and hostels, have been provisionally seized by the ED. The agency has also filed a chargesheet naming Jawad Siddiqui, the chairman of the Al-Falah Charitable Trust, as one of the accused in the money laundering case.

The university gained national attention when it was revealed that Dr. Umar Nabi, the perpetrator of the Red Fort attack, was employed there. Additionally, two of his accomplices, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel and Dr. Shaheen Shahid, who are linked to a “white collar” terror network, also worked at the institution.

In November, the university’s website was taken offline after receiving a show-cause notice from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for falsely claiming accreditation. The ED has announced plans to investigate the university’s funding sources and the financial transactions involving its medical staff.

As the investigation unfolds, the implications for Al-Falah University and its operations remain significant, raising questions about the oversight of educational institutions and their connections to broader security concerns.
