**Ananya Birla Ventures into Beauty and Personal Care Industry**
On February 5, entrepreneur Ananya Birla announced her entry into the beauty and personal care (BPC) sector. Her company plans to introduce a variety of beauty and personal care brands across India by 2025, with a phased rollout of makeup, fragrances, and other products.
This new venture aligns with the projected growth of India’s BPC market, expected to reach $34 billion by 2028, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10-11%. This growth is fueled by increasing disposable incomes, enhanced e-commerce penetration, and a growing consumer willingness to explore new products.
The BPC industry has seen a surge of new entrepreneurs, including Isha Ambani, who launched Tira, a beauty retail platform offering makeup, skincare, and haircare products in 2023.
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has been announced as the brand ambassador for Ananya Birla’s new line.
In discussing her venture, Ananya Birla emphasized the need for more home-grown cosmetic brands in India. “With greater exposure to global products and knowledge, Indian consumers now demand more from home-grown brands—this venture aims to meet those expectations with authenticity and innovation, bringing world-class products to the Indian marketplace,” she stated.
Birla further noted that her brand is designed to resonate with modern, discerning audiences globally. “Our brands are built for the new age—from brand identity to go-to-market strategy, every element is crafted to challenge conventions and redefine the consumer experience,” she added.
Ananya Birla serves as a director on the board of ABMCPL, the Aditya Birla Group’s strategic body, and holds positions on the boards of several other Aditya Birla Group companies, including Hindalco, Grasim, and ABFRL. Additionally, she is the brand ambassador for Maybelline.
