Jagan Reddy’s party claims that the Class 10 results were announced hastily and is calling for Nara Lokesh to resign.

**Andhra Pradesh Class 10 Results Spark Controversy Over Evaluation Errors**

The recent Class 10 examination results in Andhra Pradesh have ignited a significant controversy, with the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) holding Education Minister Nara Lokesh accountable for widespread errors in the evaluation process. The party is calling for his resignation, asserting that thousands of students were unjustly marked, jeopardizing their academic futures.

The YSRCP’s Student Wing lodged a formal complaint with the School Education Commissioner in Mangalagiri, alleging that the government hastily conducted the evaluation, compelling teachers to complete the grading in a mere seven days. This rushed process reportedly led to many high-achieving students being incorrectly marked as failures.

Notably, numerous students who initially received low scores—such as 21 or 26—saw their marks soar to over 80 and 90 following re-evaluation. For instance, a student from YSR Kadapa had her Social Studies score raised from 21 to 84, while another from Bapatla improved from 26 to 96. The party reported that over 66,000 students requested re-evaluation, with more than 11,000 being declared passed after corrections were made.

“This isn’t a minor mistake; it reflects a systemic failure,” stated Panuganti Chaitanya, the State President of the YSRCP Student Wing. He emphasized that Nara Lokesh should take moral responsibility and resign. The party is also demanding free re-evaluation, refunds, and a public apology to the affected students and their families.

In a related critique, former Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh condemned the government’s actions, claiming that the expedited evaluation process, completed in just 21 days, was designed to facilitate early coaching for corporate colleges in JEE and NEET. He argued that this approach prioritized profit over student welfare.

Suresh highlighted that errors were found in over 30% of the re-evaluated answer sheets, with some students’ scores increasing dramatically from 30 to as high as 93. He called for a halt to admissions in IIITs, polytechnics, and other institutions until the re-evaluation process is fully completed. Additionally, he criticized the current administration for reversing previous educational reforms aimed at supporting underprivileged and rural students, labeling the situation as a betrayal rather than mere negligence.

In conclusion, the controversy surrounding the Class 10 results in Andhra Pradesh raises critical questions about the integrity of the educational evaluation system and the potential long-term impacts on students’ academic journeys.
