**Headline:** BJP Calls for Waqf Boards to Function Within Legal Frameworks for Community Benefit

In a recent address at the BJP headquarters to celebrate the party’s 46th foundation day, BJP President JP Nadda clarified the government’s stance on Waqf Boards. He stated that the Centre does not aim to control these boards but rather to ensure they function within legal parameters. This approach is intended to ensure that the assets of Waqf Boards are utilized effectively for the advancement of education, healthcare, and employment opportunities within the Muslim community.

Nadda highlighted that several Muslim-majority countries, including Turkey, have taken control of Waqf properties, and he urged those managing the boards to adhere strictly to established rules. “We do not seek to control the Waqf Board. Our goal is to ensure that those managing it operate within the bounds of law and adhere to established rules,” he emphasized.

Before his speech, Nadda performed a ceremonial flag hoisting at the BJP headquarters, attended by various party leaders, including MPs and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Reflecting on the BJP’s political journey since its inception as the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in 1951, Nadda noted that the party has grown to become the world’s largest political entity, currently holding power in multiple states. He attributed this success to the party’s unwavering commitment to its ideological foundation, contrasting it with the Congress party’s decline due to “ideological dilution.”

Nadda also acknowledged the contributions of key BJP figures such as Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and L.K. Advani. He reported that the BJP now boasts 240 members in the Lok Sabha, 98 in the Rajya Sabha, and over 1,600 MLAs nationwide, with membership surpassing 13.5 crore and more than 10 lakh active party workers.

The BJP leader asserted that the party has experienced “scientific growth,” emphasizing the importance of both organizational expansion and electoral success. He remarked, “Though our opponents take jibes at us in Parliament, they also acknowledge that we are the world’s biggest party.”

Nadda reiterated the BJP’s commitment to prioritizing the nation and promoting India’s rich traditions, culture, and history. He pointed out the construction of a “magnificent” Ram temple in Ayodhya during the party’s governance. He criticized the Congress party for its handling of the Shah Bano case, accusing it of succumbing to appeasement politics under former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. He noted that, despite the Supreme Court’s call for the emancipation of Muslim women, decisive action was lacking until the BJP, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, abolished triple talaq, thereby empowering Muslim women.

Furthermore, Nadda mentioned that the Modi government has extended citizenship rights to individuals who faced religious persecution, reinforcing the BJP’s commitment to social justice.
