Karnataka Power Breakfast 2.0: DK Shivakumar will host the Chief Minister during the power conflict.

**Karnataka Power Struggle: CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy Shivakumar Meet for Unity**

In Karnataka, the ongoing power struggle remains unresolved as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar prepare for a second round of breakfast meetings today, signaling a commitment to unity. This meeting follows directives from the Congress high command aimed at easing tensions between the two leaders, with the first discussion taking place at Siddaramaiah’s residence on Saturday. Today, Shivakumar will host Siddaramaiah at his home for breakfast.

On Monday evening, Shivakumar confirmed the breakfast invitation, emphasizing the need to collaborate on fulfilling promises made to the people of Karnataka. He mentioned that he plans to serve naati koli (country chicken), which is reportedly Siddaramaiah’s favorite dish.

The Karnataka Congress has faced significant political turmoil as the government approaches the midpoint of its five-year term. Several MLAs loyal to Shivakumar have advocated for a leadership change, supporting him for the Chief Minister position. They assert that the party leadership had previously assured a 2.5-year power-sharing agreement between the two leaders.

Both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar are expected to be summoned to Delhi by party leadership, which has urged them to resolve their differences before heading to the national capital. Following their initial discussions, both leaders have expressed their commitment to abide by the party’s decisions.

Sources indicate that a resolution is anticipated within two days, although recent developments suggest that Siddaramaiah may continue as Chief Minister for the time being, particularly with the Belagavi legislature session set to commence on December 8.

Shivakumar took to Twitter to share details about the upcoming meeting, stating, “The CM and I continue to work together as a team. I have invited the Hon’ble CM for breakfast tomorrow to discuss and strengthen our collective efforts to deliver on our promises to Karnataka.”

Meanwhile, Shivakumar’s brother, former Congress MP DK Suresh, returned to Bengaluru after a visit to Delhi, where he reportedly met with senior party leaders. When asked about his trip, Suresh described it as personal and noted, “Things are moving smoothly. Breakfast meetings are taking place. There is another breakfast meeting tomorrow. Everything will reach its conclusion in due course.” When questioned about the possibility of Shivakumar becoming Chief Minister, Suresh replied, “Let’s wait and see.”

The internal power struggle has intensified amid speculation regarding a potential leadership change, particularly as the Congress government surpassed the halfway mark of its term on November 20.
