**Nexus Venture Partners Closes $700 Million Fund to Invest in AI and Tech Startups**

Nexus Venture Partners has successfully closed its latest fund, raising $700 million to support startups in artificial intelligence (AI), enterprise technology, consumer services, and fintech sectors in both India and the United States. Established in 2006 and headquartered in Delaware, the venture capital firm has invested in over 130 companies and achieved more than 30 exits, including several through initial public offerings (IPOs).

The firm has a diverse investment portfolio that spans the technology stack, from open-source infrastructure and developer platforms to emerging agentic AI companies, as well as consumer and fintech ventures. “Every layer of the tech stack is being redefined by AI. Agentic AI is revolutionizing workflows, ushering in a new era of augmentation and automation across various industries,” the firm stated. “With Fund VIII, we are committed to supporting visionary entrepreneurs who are tackling significant challenges and driving the next wave of global innovation.”

Nexus operates offices in Menlo Park, San Francisco, as well as in Mumbai and Bengaluru. The firm has backed numerous startups that have achieved unicorn status, valued at over $1 billion. Notable portfolio companies include Zepto, a quick-commerce player; Rapido, a ride-hailing platform; Jumbotail, a B2B marketplace; MapmyIndia, a maps data company later acquired by Flipkart; Unacademy, an edtech platform for test preparation; and SEDEMAC Mechatronics, a control systems manufacturer that filed for an IPO in November.

In addition to its investments in established sectors, Nexus is also exploring fast-growing markets such as quick-delivery fashion, with a $10 million investment in Slikk, and quick-maid services, exemplified by Snabbit, which recently secured $1 million in seed funding from the firm.

Nexus was also involved in Neysa, an AI infrastructure company, participating in its $20 million seed round last year, which was led by Z47 (formerly Matrix Partners India). The firm co-led Neysa’s $30 million Series A round alongside NTTVC and Z47. Neysa is currently seeking additional funding and is reportedly in discussions with SoftBank and Blackstone, as noted by industry sources.

In summary, Nexus Venture Partners is poised to make significant contributions to the tech landscape with its new fund, focusing on innovative startups that are set to shape the future of technology and business.
