**New Roads to Ease Travel from Noida to IGI Airport**

Traveling from Noida to Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi is about to become significantly more convenient. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate two crucial road projects today: the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) and the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway. These new routes are expected to reduce travel time to just 20 minutes, providing a smoother journey for commuters from western Delhi and the surrounding NCR suburbs while alleviating congestion on the busy Ring Road.

The UER-II, a 76-kilometer corridor touted as Delhi’s new “outer ring road,” stretches from Alipur to Mahipalpur, near the airport. Constructed at an investment of approximately Rs 7,716 crore, this 4-to-6 lane highway connects key areas such as Mundka, Bakkarwala, Najafgarh, and Dwarka. It also links to major highways, including Delhi–Chandigarh, Delhi–Rohtak, and Sonipat, enhancing overall connectivity.

In addition, the Prime Minister will unveil the 29-kilometer Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway, which runs from the Kherki Daula toll plaza to Shiv Murti at Mahipalpur. The Gurugram section of this expressway was inaugurated earlier in March 2024. Together, these two corridors are anticipated to facilitate smoother traffic flow toward the airport, Gurugram, and Jaipur.

The event will also see the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and other prominent BJP leaders. Officials have indicated that these access-controlled expressways will enable uninterrupted travel and help reduce the burden on Delhi’s main roads.

The Dwarka Expressway, which cost Rs 9,000 crore, was developed in four packages, while the UER-II was completed in five phases. According to the National Highways Authority of India, UER-II was designed under the Delhi Master Plan 2021, covering 54 kilometers in Delhi and approximately 21 kilometers in Haryana. The expressway features eight lanes, service roads, four multi-level interchanges, and several underpasses, all aimed at improving traffic efficiency.

In conclusion, the inauguration of these road projects marks a significant advancement in infrastructure, promising to enhance connectivity and reduce travel times for commuters in the region.
