**Headline:** Karnataka Congress MLA Raises Concerns Over Operation Sindoor’s Impact on Pahalgam Attack Victims

In a recent statement that has intensified the ongoing political debate between the Indian government and opposition parties, Karnataka Congress MLA Kothur Manjunath expressed skepticism regarding the effectiveness of India’s Operation Sindoor. This military action, aimed at dismantling Pakistani terror infrastructure, has been scrutinized for its perceived lack of tangible outcomes, particularly in relation to the families of victims from the Pahalgam attack.

Manjunath criticized the operation, stating, “Nothing was done. Just to show off, they sent three-four flights overhead and returned. Will that compensate for the 26–28 people killed in Pahalgam? Is this how we console those women? Is this how we show respect?” His remarks highlight a growing concern among opposition leaders about the government’s claims of success following the precision strikes.

Following the May 7 military action, the Indian government announced the destruction of nine major terror launch pads and the elimination of approximately 100 terrorists. However, these assertions have been met with skepticism from various opposition factions, including the Congress party. Manjunath further questioned whether the individuals responsible for the April 22 attack in the Baisaran Valley were among those reportedly killed in the strikes, demanding clarity on the identities of the terrorists involved.

“Have they confirmed that at least 100 terrorists have been killed? Who were those terrorists who crossed our border? What are their identities? Why was there no security at the border? How did they escape?” he asked, labeling the situation as a significant intelligence failure. He also pointed out inconsistencies in the reported number of terrorists killed and the destruction of terror facilities, stating, “All the TV channels are telling different stories. Whom do we trust? Who was hit? Who died?”

India has consistently maintained that Operation Sindoor targeted only terrorists and military installations, asserting that no civilians were harmed during the operation. Manjunath, however, emphasized the need for a more humane approach, stating, “We oppose any kind of war against civilians, anywhere. This cannot compensate them. This is not the solution.”

The military action was a direct response to the Pahalgam attack, which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali national, attributed to The Resistance Front (TRF), a faction linked to the Pakistani terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

As the political discourse continues, the effectiveness and implications of Operation Sindoor remain a contentious topic, raising questions about national security and the government’s accountability in addressing terrorism.
