**India to Develop Advanced Sudarshan Chakra Defense System by 2035**

In a significant announcement during his Independence Day address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed plans for India to develop an advanced weapons system called the Sudarshan Chakra by 2035. This initiative aims to enhance the nation’s defense capabilities against potential threats, providing a state-of-the-art technological shield to protect critical national sites and ensure comprehensive security over the next decade.

Inspired by the legendary weapon of Lord Krishna, the Sudarshan Chakra symbolizes a transformative shift in India’s defense strategy. PM Modi emphasized that key locations across the country, including railway stations, hospitals, and religious sites, will be integrated into a national security framework.

“In the next ten years, by 2035, I want to expand, strengthen, and modernize this national security shield. Drawing inspiration from Lord Shri Krishna, we have chosen the path of the Sudarshan Chakra… The nation will be launching the Sudarshan Chakra Mission,” PM Modi stated from the historic Red Fort.

The mission will incorporate a Precise Target System and cutting-edge weaponry, designed to counter enemy aggression and deliver robust retaliatory measures. This initiative aims to redefine India’s defense preparedness in an increasingly complex global security landscape.

During his address, PM Modi highlighted the evolving nature of warfare and the necessity for India to adapt. He referenced Operation Sindoor, where India successfully thwarted missile and drone attacks from Pakistan using technology developed over the past decade. The Prime Minister reiterated the commitment to enhancing military capabilities in response to advancements in warfare technology.

“In the next ten years, we are committed to building a strong Sudarshan Chakra shield to deal with the changing nature of war,” he affirmed.

PM Modi’s address marked his longest Independence Day speech to date, lasting 105 minutes, surpassing his previous record of 98 minutes set in 2024. His inaugural record was established in 2015 with an 88-minute speech.

As India embarks on this ambitious defense initiative, the Sudarshan Chakra Mission is poised to play a crucial role in safeguarding the nation against emerging threats and ensuring a secure future.
