This is the reason behind the removal of Byju’s learning app from the Google Play Store…

**Byju’s Learning App Removed from Google Play Store Over Payment Issues**

The Byju’s Learning app has been removed from the Google Play Store due to non-payment of dues to Amazon Web Services (AWS), as reported by PTI. This situation has been ongoing since April 2024, involving discussions between Think and Learn Pvt Ltd, Byju’s parent company, and AWS.

As of now, PTI has not received a response to their inquiries directed to Shailendra Ajmera, the Insolvency Resolution Professional (IRP) managing Think and Learn. A source informed PTI that the delisting occurred because Byju’s has not settled its outstanding payments to AWS, which provides essential support for the app. The company is currently under the management of an IRP tasked with addressing all payment-related matters.

An AWS spokesperson confirmed that they have been collaborating with Think and Learn since April 2024 to resolve the outstanding balance and expressed hope for a resolution. However, they refrained from commenting on actions taken by other technology providers regarding the Byju’s app.

Despite the delisting from Google Play Store, the Byju’s Learning app remains available on Apple’s App Store. The app offers educational content in subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology for grades 4-12, as well as social studies for grades 6-8. It also provides preparation resources for competitive exams like JEE, NEET, and IAS.

Other Byju’s apps, managed by different vendors, are still operational. As of now, both the Byju’s Premium Learning app and the Byju’s Exam Prep app can be found on the Google Play Store.

Insolvency proceedings have been initiated against Byju’s by the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLT) following appeals from various investors, including the lender-authorized agency Glas Trust.
