**Tragic Loss in Mussoorie: Tourist Dies in Traffic Jam While Rushed to Hospital**

A tourist from Delhi tragically lost his life in Mussoorie after becoming trapped in a severe traffic jam while being transported to the hospital. Kamal Kishore Tandon, a 62-year-old man, had arrived in Mussoorie with his family on June 5 and was staying in an apartment on Motilal Nehru Road.

According to his nephew, Arjun Kapoor, Tandon suddenly fell ill amid inclement weather and heavy rainfall. The family made the decision to take him to the nearby Landour Community Hospital. Initially, they called for an ambulance through the 108 emergency service, but were informed that it would take nearly an hour to arrive from Dehradun. Faced with this delay, the family arranged for their own vehicle to drive him to the hospital.

Unfortunately, the narrow roads of Mussoorie were congested with traffic, including numerous tempo travellers and other tourist vehicles, resulting in a significant jam. Local residents and police personnel attempted to alleviate the congestion, but it took nearly 45 minutes to clear a path. By the time the family reached the hospital, it was too late—Kamal Kishore Tandon had passed away en route.

The family has attributed the tragic loss to inadequate traffic management in Mussoorie. Arjun Kapoor expressed their grief, stating, “We came here for a vacation, but we’re now returning with a body. The administration and tourism department must learn from this incident to ensure no other family has to suffer the way we did.”

Mussoorie Circle Officer Manoj Aswal confirmed the incident, noting that police officers arrived promptly and even attempted to administer CPR. He urged tourists to dial 112 in any emergency, assuring that the police would provide all possible assistance.

In light of this unfortunate event, it is crucial for local authorities to address traffic management issues to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
