**Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Secures Court Injunction Against Image Misuse**
The Delhi High Court has announced plans to issue injunction orders to safeguard the personality rights of actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. This decision follows her complaint regarding the unauthorized morphing and misuse of her images online. Senior Advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing Rai, informed the court that her likeness is being exploited by various entities on the internet without her consent, constituting a violation of her personality rights.
Sethi emphasized, “I am enforcing my publicity and personality rights,” highlighting that the actress’s image has been improperly used on coffee mugs, merchandise, and even in fabricated pornographic content. He presented evidence, including screenshots from YouTube, asserting, “These images do not belong to Aishwarya Rai. She has not authorized their use. They are all AI-generated, including intimate photographs that are entirely fictitious. Her name and likeness are being misused to fulfill someone’s sexual desires, which is very unfortunate.”
In response, Google’s counsel referenced a previous case related to the film “Andaz Apna Apna,” where similar issues arose regarding shared links that were subsequently removed. However, the court clarified, “There are only 151 URLs that will be included in the order concerning your case. You must take them down.”
Justice Tejas Karia stated that the takedown order for the identified links would be issued by Tuesday evening, with separate injunctions to be filed against each defendant. “We will pass orders against each of the defendants because the requests are broad. However, we will grant injunctions separately,” the judge noted during the proceedings. The case is scheduled for its next hearing on January 15, 2026.
