Emiliano Grillo’s ace at the iconic 16th hole during the Phoenix Open triggers a huge celebration among fans.

The atmosphere at the 16th hole during the Waste Management Open was electric, with the crowd eager for a reason to celebrate. Emiliano Grillo provided that spark with a stunning hole-in-one during the second round on Friday, igniting the fans at one of golf’s most boisterous holes. Grillo, who was at 1-under par, executed a shot that would make Steph Curry proud.

From a distance of 155 yards, Grillo sent the ball straight into the hole without it ever touching the green, creating a moment of pure excitement. As the ball disappeared into the cup, pandemonium erupted. Grillo tossed his club into the air, unsure of how to react, before joyfully leaping in celebration with fellow golfer Rafael Campos.

In a wave of enthusiasm, fans began tossing beer cans and cups onto the course in jubilation. Despite the efforts of security to maintain order, the exuberant crowd continued their celebration, marking the 12th ace in the history of the 16th hole. The atmosphere resembled that of a college football stadium on the brink of a rivalry game, with fans chanting and jumping in delight.

Campos prepared to take his shot after Grillo, but had to wait briefly for the debris to be cleared from the hole. As of the third round, Grillo is currently one over par through four holes, maintaining a 1-under par overall for the tournament.
