**Steve Jobs Suggested Bill Gates Use Acid for Better Product Design, Gates Recalls**

In a recent conversation, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates shared an intriguing anecdote about his interactions with Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. Gates revealed that Jobs once expressed a desire for him to experiment with acid, suggesting it might enhance his design sensibilities.

“Steve Jobs once said that he wished I’d take acid because then maybe I would have had more taste in my design of my products,” Gates recounted. This unexpected comment highlights the contrasting approaches of the two tech giants, who often focused on different aspects of technology.

Jobs, known for his visionary approach in the 1990s and early 2000s, transformed product design with groundbreaking innovations like the iMac, iPod, iPad, and the iconic iPhone. Meanwhile, during this period, Microsoft was concentrating on developing cloud-computing software, which has since become a significant revenue source for the company.

In response to Jobs’ remark, Gates humorously noted, “Look, I got the wrong batch.” He acknowledged Jobs’ exceptional marketing and design talents, contrasting them with his own strengths in coding. “I got the coding batch, and this guy got the marketing-design batch, so good for him,” Gates said, recognizing their differing skill sets.

Despite their complex relationship, Gates expressed admiration for Jobs’ abilities, admitting, “I envy those skills. I’m not in his league.” Interestingly, Jobs was unaware of Gates’ past experiences with recreational drugs, as Gates confirmed his use of marijuana during high school.
