Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has voiced his hope for Kellen Moore to remain part of his coaching staff amid speculation that Moore may be taking the head coaching position with the New Orleans Saints. Recent reports suggest that Moore is poised to become the next head coach of the Saints, especially following his connection to the role in the lead-up to the Eagles’ 40-22 victory in Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs.
As the Eagles celebrated their second Super Bowl championship, Sirianni had a clear message for Moore: “Let’s run this s— back,” he stated during an interview with FOX’s Tom Rinaldi.
Moore, who was once a highly sought-after coach, has yet to secure a head coaching role despite his previous success. He served as the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys for four years before taking on the same role with the Los Angeles Chargers last season. After Jim Harbaugh assumed head coaching responsibilities, Moore transitioned to Sirianni’s staff, where the team ranked seventh in points scored and eighth in total yards during the season.
The Eagles relied heavily on their offensive prowess throughout the year, with standout performances from Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, the latter of whom came close to breaking Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record. The offense continued to excel in the playoffs, ultimately leading to their Super Bowl triumph.
As rumors swirl about Moore potentially joining the Saints, he would have the opportunity to work with quarterback Derek Carr, following New Orleans’ challenging 5-12 season in 2024.
