Billionaire Mukesh Ambani, leading Reliance Industries Ltd, announced on January 11, 2026, that Jio will introduce an innovative artificial intelligence (AI) platform designed to provide services in users’ native languages. This announcement was made during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference held in Rajkot.

Ambani revealed that the company will utilize a new AI data center being established in Jamnagar, Gujarat, to develop this language platform, aiming to enhance the efficiency and productivity of AI services. “In Jamnagar, we are constructing India’s largest AI-ready data center with the mission of making AI affordable for every Indian. Jio will create a people-first intelligence platform tailored for India and the world, allowing every citizen, starting from Gujarat, to access AI services in their own language on their devices daily,” stated Ambani.

In his address, Ambani highlighted Reliance’s significant investment in Gujarat, noting that the company has invested over ₹3.5 trillion in the past five years and plans to double this to ₹7 trillion in the next five years. He also announced the establishment of a hospital in Jamnagar and the expansion of educational facilities in alignment with the central government’s vision.

Ambani acknowledged the rapid changes in the global landscape and the challenges posed by geopolitical situations but reassured that these challenges would not affect the Indian populace.

In a related development, Karan Adani, managing director of Adani Ports and SEZ, announced that the Adani Group plans to invest ₹1.5 trillion in the Kutch region of Gujarat over the next five years. He confirmed the completion of the Kavda project and the commissioning of a total capacity of 37 gigawatts by 2030. Additionally, the Adani Group aims to double its port capacity at Mundra Port within the next decade, aligning its investments with India’s vision for a developed nation by 2047.
