**Shakira Hospitalized, Cancels Concert in Peru**
Colombian pop star Shakira has been hospitalized in Peru due to an “abdominal issue,” leading to the cancellation of her concert. The singer, known for her hit “Hips Don’t Lie,” was set to perform in Lima for the first time in over ten years.
In an Instagram post, Shakira expressed her disappointment, stating, “I’m sorry to let you all know that last night I had to go to the emergency room for an abdominal issue and I’m currently hospitalized. The doctors taking care of me have let me know that I’m not well enough to perform tonight.”
On Saturday, she shared videos of her arrival in Peru, where she was warmly welcomed by hundreds of fans. “I am very sad that I will not be able to take the stage today,” she wrote. “I have been deeply emotional and excited about reuniting with my beloved Peruvian audience.”
Shakira hopes to recover quickly and be released from the hospital in time for her next scheduled performance in Lima on Monday. This tour supports her Grammy-winning album, *Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran*, which reflects on her highly publicized split from Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué.
Following her Lima concert, Shakira will return to her home country of Colombia before continuing her tour through the end of June.
