Police have apprehended a suspect in connection with the theft of high-end vehicles belonging to college athletes Carson Beck and Hanna Cavinder.

A suspect has been apprehended in connection with the theft of luxury vehicles belonging to college football star quarterback Carson Beck and women’s basketball standout Hanna Cavinder. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Tykwon Anderson, was taken into custody by police on Thursday. Anderson is one of four individuals accused of stealing high-end cars, including a Lamborghini, as detailed in an arrest report.

Deputies from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office responded to the couple’s residence early Thursday morning. Beck and Cavinder informed investigators that their silver Mercedes-Benz AMG, red Lamborghini Urus, and white Range Rover were stolen while they were asleep. Authorities managed to recover the Mercedes-Benz and Range Rover within hours, but the Lamborghini remained missing.

According to police, just before 3 a.m. on Thursday, Anderson and three other masked individuals arrived at Beck’s home. One of the suspects managed to break into a vehicle parked in the driveway and used the garage door opener to access the house, where they stole the keys to all three vehicles. The alleged thieves utilized a rental car registered to Anderson to reach Beck’s residence, and investigators tracked Anderson’s location using data from the rental car.

Anderson faces charges of grand theft, vehicle theft, and burglary. He is currently being held at the Miami-Dade jail without bail, and no attorney has been listed for him in online court records.

This incident is part of a troubling trend of burglaries targeting high-profile athletes in the NFL and NBA over recent months. On Tuesday, seven migrants from Chile were charged in Florida federal court for their involvement in a nationwide burglary network that targeted the homes of several sports stars, including NFL players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. The suspects are accused of stealing approximately $2 million in watches, jewelry, cash, and other valuables, including a safe that they managed to crack open.

Beck, the former starting quarterback for Georgia, announced his intention to enter the 2025 NFL Draft in December, shortly after undergoing season-ending elbow surgery. He sustained the injury during the first half of the Bulldogs’ overtime victory over Texas in the SEC championship game. Despite having another year of eligibility, Beck aimed for the NFL after two successful seasons as Georgia’s starter, boasting a 24-3 record. However, he later decided to commit to Miami to join his girlfriend.
