“Kya Ho Raha Hai?” Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal emulates Elon Musk by requesting his employees to provide weekly updates in the form of ‘3-5 bullet points.’

**Ola Launches ‘Kya Chal Raha Hain’ Initiative for Employee Updates**

In a move reminiscent of Elon Musk’s controversial request to U.S. Federal workers, Indian ride-hailing company Ola has introduced a new initiative called ‘Kya Chal Raha Hain’ for its employees. This program requires staff to submit weekly reports to CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, although it does not carry the threat of termination.

According to a CNBC report, an internal email was sent to Ola employees last week mandating these weekly updates. The phrase ‘Kya Chal Raha Hain?’ translates to ‘What’s going on?’ in Hindi. Employees are now expected to send a brief email each week detailing 3 to 5 bullet points of their completed tasks.

The first report was due by the end of the day following the announcement, with subsequent reports required every Sunday. These updates are to be sent to both Bhavish Aggarwal and the employee’s direct manager.

In the email, Aggarwal stated, “We’re starting ‘Kya Chal Raha Hain?’ — a simple way to share your weekly updates directly with me and your managers, starting today. Please send a brief update to your manager and Kyachalrahahai@olagroup.in (email will be active in an hour or so) with 3-5 bullet points about what you got done last week. Keep it simple and to the point. Use the email subject: ‘Weekly updates’. The deadline for this is today end of day. Going forward, we will expect the email before Sunday end of day. Everyone has to send this, no exceptions.”

In related news, Ola Electric Mobility Ltd is reportedly laying off over 1,000 employees and contract workers as part of a restructuring effort to reduce losses. Departments affected include charging infrastructure, customer relations, procurement, and fulfillment. Following the layoff news, Ola Electric’s shares fell 5.36% to a new 52-week low.

This initiative echoes Musk’s earlier directive to federal employees, where he demanded they report their weekly accomplishments or resign, emphasizing accountability in the workplace.
