India’s EV cell makers see first real shot at closing China price gap

Lithium-ion cell makers are intensifying talks with the government to cut costs and build a local supplier base, as a 9% rise in imported Chinese cell prices offers a window to narrow the price gap. The push is urgent as EV cell imports hit $4.6 billion in FY26, over two-thirds of it from China.
