A BJP MP stated that without Modi as our leader, we could struggle to secure even 150 seats.

**Modi’s Leadership: Key to BJP’s Electoral Success Since 2014**

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been credited with the remarkable electoral success of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 2014. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey emphasized that without Modi’s leadership, the party would not be in its current strong position. Dubey highlighted that Modi’s charisma and political appeal have attracted a significant number of voters who may not have previously supported the BJP.

In an interview with ANI, Dubey, representing Godda in Jharkhand, stated, “Today, Modiji has become the prime minister for the third time. If Modiji is not our leader, the BJP may not even win 150 seats.” This statement underscores the party’s reliance on Modi’s influence to secure decisive victories in recent elections. Under his leadership, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) formed the government for the third consecutive time in 2024, winning 240 seats alone. The party had previously achieved clear majorities in 2014 and 2019, with 282 and 303 Lok Sabha seats, respectively.

Dubey noted that Modi has successfully shifted the party’s voter base, particularly among the poor, who previously did not align with the BJP. “When Modiji came, the votebank that never belonged to the BJP, especially among the poor, shifted towards the party due to their faith in him,” he remarked, acknowledging the reality of Modi’s impact on the electorate.

The outspoken MP further asserted that the BJP must contest the next Lok Sabha elections in 2029 under Modi’s leadership, stating, “The BJP needs Modiji. As a party worker, I believe that we need Modiji’s leadership.” He clarified that his comments reflect the ground reality and the trust the public has in Modi’s leadership.

Looking ahead, Dubey expressed hope that as long as Modi is able, his leadership will be crucial in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. He also dismissed recent comments from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat regarding the retirement of BJP leaders after the age of 75, asserting that there is no need for Modi to step down.

Since assuming power, Modi has become the face of the BJP, leading the party to three consecutive Lok Sabha victories and establishing a presence in states where it previously had little influence.
