After the recent coaching change, there are growing speculations surrounding Matthew Stafford and the Giants.

With trade rumors surrounding Matthew Stafford gaining traction, the New York Giants made a strategic move that intensified speculation. The Giants have appointed Chad Hall, Stafford’s brother-in-law, as their assistant quarterback coach, according to ESPN. Hall is reuniting with Giants general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll, with whom he previously worked at the Buffalo Bills. During their time in Buffalo, Hall served as the wide receivers coach, while Daboll was the offensive coordinator and Schoen held the position of assistant general manager. Last season, Hall was the wide receivers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Adding to the trade chatter, Kelly Stafford, Matthew’s wife and Hall’s sister, posted a cryptic message on Instagram that hinted at uncertainty about the future. Her caption read, “Future might be blurry but the present is always clear with you,” accompanying a blurred image of her and Matthew. Additionally, Cooper Kupp, a close friend of Stafford on the Rams, recently indicated on social media that the team is exploring trade options for him.

In a recent episode of her “Morning After” podcast, Kelly shared her confusion regarding the potential trade of Kupp, stating, “I will say, the trading away of Cooper, I am a little confused because we were one play away from the NFC Championship and I think if we go, we win.” She further expressed her bewilderment at the idea of trading Stafford, saying, “I don’t get it.” Kelly also mentioned that if Matthew chose not to play for the Rams, she would be “good” with that decision, emphasizing her love for their current life while also being open to new adventures.

Following the release of Daniel Jones in November and with both Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito entering free agency, the Giants currently lack a quarterback on their roster. They hold the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and are reportedly interested in Miami quarterback Cam Ward and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders as they seek to secure their franchise quarterback.

Last season, Stafford demonstrated solid performance, leading the Rams to a 10-6 record in his starts. He completed nearly 66% of his passes for 3,762 yards, throwing 20 touchdowns against eight interceptions. In the NFC Divisional round, the Rams faced a tough challenge from the Philadelphia Eagles, narrowly losing 28-23, with Stafford completing nearly 60% of his passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns despite challenging conditions.
