Armie Hammer responds to allegations of cannibalism and assault that have been brought against him.

Armie Hammer has once again refuted allegations of cannibalism, asserting that his actions were “not illegal” amid accusations of sexual assault. In a candid discussion on The Louis Theroux Podcast, the 38-year-old actor, known for his role in Call Me By Your Name, addressed a rape allegation made by a woman in Los Angeles in 2021, as well as leaked messages that revealed unsettling and violent sexual fantasies, including references to cannibalism and rape.

When directly asked by Theroux if he is a cannibal, Hammer responded, “You know what you have to do to actually be a cannibal? You have to actually eat human flesh. So no.” The father of two has consistently denied all allegations against him, stating that these claims have resulted in the loss of his career, access to his children, and professional representation. In 2023, prosecutors opted not to charge him, citing “insufficient evidence.”

Hammer emphasized the importance of context regarding the leaked messages, noting that they represent only one side of a conversation. “As you’ll notice of all the text messages that were released, the person who released them, their side was cut out of the entire conversation,” he explained.

In response to a specific allegation about consuming the organ of a living animal, Hammer recounted an experience during a hunting trip where he took a single bite out of an animal’s heart as part of a tradition. “It’s sort of like almost overly charged male rite of passage when you go hunting for your first time,” he said, acknowledging that his behavior left many people “angry” but insisting that he did nothing illegal.

“I was selfish and inconsiderate and an asshole and a cad, and I used people to make me feel better,” Hammer admitted. “Does it make me a dick? Absolutely. I have no problem admitting that I was a dick, but that’s not illegal, you know?”

Following the allegations, Hammer stepped down from a film role alongside Jennifer Lopez and transitioned to selling timeshares in the Cayman Islands, a job he described as enjoyable. “I was at the point of my life where things were so bleak that having anything to do felt amazing,” he shared. “I was also the gardener for a school at one point. In the Cayman Islands, I helped manage an apartment building and I sold timeshares, and honestly, I was having the time of my life.
