**Headline:** Special Investigation Team Challenges Bail for Dairy Directors in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Ghee Scandal

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) laddu ghee scandal has firmly opposed bail for the directors of three dairies accused of supplying adulterated ghee for the revered prasadam. During a recent hearing at the Andhra Pradesh High Court, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which leads the SIT, asserted that the accused are part of a significant, multi-crore conspiracy aimed at defrauding not only the TTD but also millions of devotees.

“This is not merely a case of food fraud; it represents a profound betrayal of faith,” stated PSP Suresh Kumar, the standing counsel for the CBI. The agency has alleged that Bholebaba Dairy, which lacked a formal agreement with TTD, utilized AR Dairy as a facade to obtain the ghee supply contract. Although the contract was officially under AR Dairy’s name, it was Bholebaba that actually provided the product, which investigators claim was not genuine ghee but a dangerous mixture of palm oil and chemicals.

The three dairies involved—Bholebaba, Vaishnavi, and AR Dairy—are reported to have engaged in business transactions worth hundreds of crores. The CBI has also raised concerns about witness intimidation, revealing that co-accused Asish Rohilla, who had agreed to testify, was forcibly relocated to Chennai and subsequently to Delhi to prevent him from providing evidence.

The CBI contended that the accused possess considerable financial influence and could potentially sway other witnesses if granted bail. Given the implications for both legal proceedings and religious sentiments, the agency urged the court to approach the matter with the utmost seriousness.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has reserved its decision on the bail plea, with a ruling expected by June 16.
