**Chris Brown Files $500 Million Defamation Lawsuit Over Documentary Allegations**
Chris Brown has initiated a $500 million defamation lawsuit against Warner Bros and the producers of the documentary “Chris Brown: A History Of Violence,” which aired in October of last year and included allegations of sexual assault. The US singer’s legal team shared details via a statement on social media, revealing that the lawsuit also targets other individuals involved in the production.
A representative for ID, the documentary network under Warner Bros, stated that they stand by the program. According to the lawsuit, which has been reviewed by Sky News, the producers are accused of broadcasting a program filled with “lies and deception,” despite having been presented with evidence that contradicted their claims.
The allegations made by a woman identified as Jane Doe in the documentary have been repeatedly discredited, according to Brown’s lawyers. They emphasize that Brown, 35, has “never been found guilty of any sex-related crime,” yet the documentary portrays him as a “serial rapist and sexual abuser.”
Brown has openly acknowledged his “past mistakes” in his own documentary, “Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life,” released in 2017. His attorney, Levi McCathern, stated that this case is about “protecting the truth,” asserting that the documentary contains “false and defamatory” information that undermines Brown’s efforts to rebuild his life and the credibility of genuine survivors of violence.
If successful in his lawsuit, Brown plans to donate “a portion” of the $500 million to survivors of sexual abuse. The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday.
In 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. In response to the lawsuit, an ID spokesperson affirmed their commitment to defending the production vigorously.
