Fortis Healthcare has announced its acquisition of People Tree Hospital, a 125-bed facility located in Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, for ₹430 crore. The agreement, finalized on December 20, involves a complete takeover of People Tree Hospital’s holding company, TMI Healthcare Pvt Ltd, through Fortis’ wholly-owned subsidiary, International Hospital Limited (IHL). Alvarez & Marsal served as the financial advisor for this transaction.

In addition to the acquisition, Fortis plans to invest an additional ₹410 crore over the next three years to enhance the hospital’s infrastructure, medical equipment, and clinical programs, including advancements in radiation oncology. The acquisition also includes an adjacent land parcel of 0.8 acres, which will allow Fortis to potentially increase the hospital’s bed capacity to over 300.

Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD and CEO of Fortis Healthcare, emphasized that this acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy to expand its presence in key markets, enabling the organization to benefit from economies of scale and operational synergies. He noted that this move is strategically significant for Fortis, further solidifying its position in the competitive Bengaluru healthcare market.
