Notably, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Ladakh, Mizoram, Punjab, and West Bengal reported no new Covid cases during this period. In terms of fatalities, Maharashtra recorded four deaths, Kerala three, and one each in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. The total number of deaths since the pandemic began stands at 87.

In the past 24 hours, 991 individuals have recovered from the virus, raising the total recovery count to 11,967. Kerala remains the most affected state, with 2,109 active cases, followed by Gujarat (1,437) and Delhi (672). Other states with significant active case numbers include Maharashtra (613), Karnataka (527), Uttar Pradesh (248), Tamil Nadu (232), Rajasthan (180), and Andhra Pradesh (102).

On the previous day, India had reported 33 new active Covid cases, increasing the total to 7,154, along with three deaths, including two in Maharashtra and one in Madhya Pradesh.

In a related development, Manipur reported five new active cases on Friday, with three in Imphal East and two in Imphal West, according to the state Directorate of Health Services. These cases emerged from 15 samples tested across the region.

Rajasthan is also witnessing a rise in Covid cases, with daily reports indicating 30-35 new infections. Dr. Ravi Prakash Sharma, Director of the Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, confirmed one death in the state, noting that the individual had tuberculosis. He assured that adequate medicines are available to manage the situation.
