In a significant military operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) of India has unveiled new footage from Operation Sindoor, which highlights targeted strikes on terror launchpads situated within Pakistani territory. The video, released on Tuesday, illustrates the precision of the Indian armed forces as they executed strikes on three terror bases located up to 2.2 kilometers inside Pakistan, alongside the destruction of Pakistani army posts along the border.

Shashank Anand, Inspector General of BSF, Jammu Frontier, stated that these operations were a direct response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, aimed at preempting infiltration attempts along the International Border and the Line of Control. He noted that following the Pahalgam incident, Pakistani Rangers retreated from their usual forward positions, while BSF personnel, both male and female, maintained their posts, even extending their presence beyond the border fence.

The BSF observed a surge in activity starting May 8, when a large group of terrorists was detected approaching the border. Acting on intelligence indicating an imminent infiltration, BSF forces initiated a series of preemptive strikes. “We destroyed the Looni terror launchpad of Lashkar near the border on the night of May 9 and 10,” IG Anand reported. “Another launchpad named Mastpur, opposite the RS Pura sector, was also targeted. During our operations, Pakistani Rangers were seen fleeing.”

BSF Deputy Inspector General SS Mand elaborated on the preemptive strikes conducted on May 8, revealing that intelligence suggested Pakistan was attempting to push terrorists across the border following Operation Sindoor. The sighting of 40-50 terrorists moving towards the border prompted immediate action from the BSF. “In response to unprovoked firing from Pakistan on BSF Border Out Posts (BOPs), we retaliated effectively,” DIG Mand stated, adding that the BSF incurred no losses during these operations.

The situation escalated on May 9 when Pakistan initiated unprovoked firing near Akhnoor, to which the BSF responded robustly. On May 10, Pakistani forces targeted multiple BSF posts, including the village of Abdullian, employing flat trajectory weapons and mortars, as well as increasing drone activity. In retaliation, the BSF successfully targeted and destroyed the Mastpur terror launchpad.

On the morning of May 10, Indian forces engaged and shot down low-flying Pakistani drones, although the incident resulted in the tragic loss of two BSF personnel and an Army soldier. “We maintained dominance over the border and inflicted significant damage on the enemy,” IG Anand affirmed.

To honor the fallen soldiers, the BSF plans to name two posts after them and designate another as “Sindoor Post,” with a proposal to be submitted to the government.
