**Titan Unveils Jalsa: A Masterpiece in Luxury Watchmaking**

Titan has marked its 40th anniversary with the launch of the Jalsa, its second flying tourbillon watch, showcasing the brand’s commitment to in-house craftsmanship and innovation. The flying tourbillon, a prestigious complication in horology, was originally invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet over 200 years ago to enhance timekeeping accuracy by counteracting gravity’s effects. This year, Titan’s Jalsa joins the Nebula line and will represent the brand at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), the most esteemed awards in the watchmaking industry.

The Jalsa is a testament to Titan’s strategic expansion into the luxury watch segment, coinciding with a nearly 20% growth in its watches and wearables division, which surpassed ₹4,500 crore in revenue in FY25. The watch features a flying tourbillon movement composed of 144 components and 14 jewels, elegantly paired with a marble dial that reflects Jaipur’s rich artistic heritage. Unlike traditional tourbillons, the flying tourbillon is mounted solely from below, creating a captivating floating effect.

The dial artwork, crafted by Padma Shri Syed Shakir Ali, a master of Mughal miniature art, depicts the iconic Hawa Mahal and a royal procession. This intricate painting is executed entirely by hand using natural pigments and a single-strand squirrel hair brush, all set within a luxurious 44 mm, 18k rose gold case inlaid with red agate. Notably, the minute hand serves as a magnifying lens, allowing viewers to appreciate the detailed artwork beneath.

Limited to just ten pieces, the Jalsa is priced at ₹40.5 lakh. In an interview, C K Venkataraman, managing director of Titan Company, shared insights into the watch’s development and the growing luxury watch market in India. He emphasized the significance of the Jalsa, highlighting its unique materials, the flying tourbillon complication, and the exquisite dial as key elements that elevate it to GPHG-worthy status.

As Titan aims for recognition on the global horological stage, the GPHG serves as a platform for showcasing its craftsmanship and innovation, reinforcing its position in the luxury watch segment.
