Legendary professional wrestler Booker T will serve as one of four coaches on the upcoming A&E series “WWE Legends and Future Greats,” also known as “WWE LFG.” The show features 16 aspiring wrestlers who will learn under the mentorship of Booker T, Mickie James, Undertaker, and Bubba Ray Dudley. Each coach brings their unique styles and experiences, with Booker T having a solid background in coaching.
As the founder of the independent promotion Reality of Wrestling (ROW), Booker T has established a wrestling school that feeds into WWE’s developmental program, WWE ID. He has experienced the highs and lows of professional wrestling, having held world championships in WWE, WCW, and TNA, as well as competing on the independent and international circuits.
In a recent interview, Booker T shared his criteria for identifying potential wrestling talent. “I look for how much heart they have, how much they truly want it, and how far they’re willing to go,” he stated. “With professional wrestling, it’s not going to come to you; you have to pursue it, especially in terms of studying. I want to see if they genuinely want to be professional wrestlers or if they just want to play at it. There are many elements involved, and I’m searching for those who are truly committed.”
Booker T, who initially gained fame in WCW as part of the tag team Harlem Heat with his brother Stevie Ray, emphasized that he is not seeking a specific specialty in a wrestler. Instead, he is looking for individuals who can adapt to various challenges. “I want someone who can navigate different situations and knows how to handle them,” he explained. “The competition will test them from multiple angles—tag-team dynamics, singles matches, and unexpected scenarios. I’m looking for those who are ready for anything because, as I’ve told my students from the start, preparation is key.
