The DMK is set to initiate a campaign targeting the Central government concerning state rights, the discoveries at Keeladi, and inadequate funding.

**DMK Launches Statewide Campaign to Highlight Union Government’s Betrayal**

The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party in Tamil Nadu has initiated an extensive 45-day campaign named ‘Oraniyil Tamil Nadu’ or ‘Tamil Nadu in One’. This campaign aims to shed light on what the DMK describes as the Union Government’s betrayal of the state. The campaign is set to commence on July 1, with Chief Minister and party president MK Stalin officially launching it, followed by a statewide rollout on July 3.

The campaign will cover all 234 assembly constituencies, starting from two locations: Palaverkadu to Kanyakumari and Anaikattai to Nagapattinam. Industries Minister TRB Rajaa emphasized that the initiative seeks to raise awareness about the Union Government’s actions, which the DMK claims have undermined Tamil Nadu’s rights while the state government continues to fulfill its commitments.

Key issues to be addressed during the campaign include the Union Government’s failure to recognize the significant Keeladi archaeological findings and the alleged withholding of central funds for education in Tamil Nadu. Rajaa stated, “The Centre did not accept the Keeladi excavation that showcases Tamil Nadu’s rich civilizational history. They are also starving the state of educational funds.”

Describing the campaign as a ‘first-of-its-kind’ effort, the DMK plans to directly engage with two crore households through door-to-door outreach, public meetings, and rallies. A concurrent membership drive will also take place, focusing on both new enrollments and renewals.

“This is a new journey to fight for the growth of our state and unite people against the enemy in a single row,” Rajaa remarked. The DMK has already conducted an orientation session for representatives from all 234 constituencies, who will train booth-level agents on June 27 and 28.

In a critique of opposition parties, Rajaa noted, “Opposition parties don’t even have booth agents, but we (DMK) have a strong cadre base and a robust digital department.” He added that DMK functionaries would clarify both the alleged betrayal by the Union Government and the welfare schemes implemented by the state government.

In conclusion, the DMK’s campaign is poised to mobilize significant public engagement and highlight critical issues affecting Tamil Nadu, as the party seeks to strengthen its position and advocate for the state’s rights.
