The head of BJP in Kerala describes the LDF government as a ‘lost decade,’ criticizing Pinarayi Vijayan’s performance as extremely poor.

**BJP Criticizes Kerala’s LDF Government Amid Anniversary Celebrations**

In a recent Facebook post, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the president of the BJP’s Kerala state unit, launched a fierce critique of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government, led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This criticism comes as the LDF prepares to kick off a month-long celebration marking its fourth anniversary, which will feature events at both district and state levels from today until May 23.

Chandrasekhar characterized the past decade under the LDF as a “lost decade” for Kerala, highlighting what he described as an “abysmal” track record of governance. He accused the government of financial mismanagement, claiming it has become bankrupt and is reliant on loans, which has hindered its ability to pay pensions and wages to Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers.

“There are no new investments, no funds for infrastructure development, and any progress seen in Kerala is solely due to the initiatives of the Modi government,” Chandrasekhar asserted. He further criticized Vijayan for diverting attention from the state’s issues by promoting unfounded narratives about the Sangh Parivar and communalism, asserting that the people of Kerala are prepared to respond decisively to this governance failure.

In a related development, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has declared its intention to boycott the state government’s anniversary celebrations, although local representatives will attend specific events related to development projects they have been involved in. The UDF has accused the LDF of failing to address critical issues, leading the state into a “debt trap,” and claimed that the government lacks the moral authority to celebrate its anniversary. They also pointed out that while the government has spent Rs 15 crore on billboards featuring only Chief Minister Vijayan, the basic needs of workers, including ASHA and Anganwadi workers, remain unmet.

As the LDF embarks on its anniversary celebrations, the political landscape in Kerala remains charged, with both the BJP and UDF voicing strong opposition to the current government’s policies and practices.
