**Headline:** Mother of Indore Businessman Calls for Death Penalty for Daughter-in-Law in Alleged Honeymoon Murder

In a shocking turn of events, Uma Raghuvanshi, the mother of Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore businessman allegedly murdered during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, has publicly demanded the death penalty for her daughter-in-law, Sonam Raghuvanshi. Sonam is currently in custody for allegedly orchestrating the murder.

Speaking to India Today TV, Uma Raghuvanshi expressed her devastation, claiming that her son was coerced into the trip to Meghalaya and that the murder was premeditated. “We had no clue our son would return in this condition. We didn’t know who all followed him there. It was a well-planned murder. My son had told me that Sonam booked the flight tickets without informing anyone and forced him to go,” a tearful Uma stated.

She further emphasized her belief in Sonam’s culpability, saying, “I don’t know who all are involved, Sonam or those three others, but if she has killed my son, she should get the death penalty.”

According to Meghalaya Police, Raja Raghuvanshi was allegedly killed by hired men during his honeymoon in Shillong, with his wife, Sonam, believed to be the mastermind behind the plot. Sonam surrendered to authorities in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, earlier in the day.

Raja and Sonam went missing while vacationing in the Sohra area of Meghalaya on May 23, and his body was discovered in a gorge on June 2. Police sources revealed that 24-year-old Sonam was allegedly involved with a man named Raj Kushwaha and conspired with him to eliminate her husband. Reports suggest she hired contract killers from Madhya Pradesh to execute the murder during their honeymoon.

In contrast, Sonam’s father, Devi Singh, has vehemently denied the allegations against his daughter, asserting her innocence. “My daughter is 100 percent innocent. We demand a CBI probe into the case. The Meghalaya police are giving false statements about my daughter because the state government’s image is getting tarnished due to Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder case,” Singh stated. He also claimed that the police lack evidence to support the accusations against Sonam.

As this case unfolds, it raises significant questions about the circumstances surrounding Raja Raghuvanshi’s tragic death and the potential implications for those involved.
