President Donald Trump is eagerly anticipating the Super Bowl, set to take place in New Orleans this Sunday. This marks the first occasion a sitting president will attend the iconic event. The matchup promises to be thrilling, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs aiming to become the first team to secure three consecutive Lombardi Trophies.
On the opposing side, the Philadelphia Eagles will be competing in their third Super Bowl in just seven seasons, making this a rematch of the previous Super Bowl two years ago, which the Chiefs won 38-35.
Trump shared his thoughts on Truth Social, commending the “two great quarterbacks,” Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts, as well as praising “an unbelievable running back,” likely referring to Saquon Barkley, and the “incredible coaching” from Andy Reid and Nick Sirianni. However, it was Travis Kelce who seemed to receive the most accolades from Trump, who implied that the veteran Chiefs tight end is the “best tight end in football (ever)” without directly naming him.
This commendation comes shortly after Antonio Gates was inducted into the Hall of Fame, positioning Kelce ahead of notable tight ends like Tony Gonzalez, Rob Gronkowski, and Jason Witten. Interestingly, despite Kelce’s girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift, endorsing Kamala Harris in the last election and Joe Biden in 2020, Kelce has kept his political views largely private.
Among tight ends, Kelce ranks third in NFL history with 1,004 receptions, 12,151 receiving yards, and fifth in touchdowns with 77.
