‘You’ll die just like your dad’: Baba Siddique’s son receives a death threat.

**Death Threats Against Former MLA Zeeshan Siddique: Investigation Underway**

Former Maharashtra MLA and NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique has reported receiving a death threat via email, allegedly from a member of the notorious ‘D-company.’ The threatening message warned him that he would face the same fate as his late father, Baba Siddique, unless he paid a sum of Rs 10 crore. Siddique stated, “For the past three days, I have been receiving continuous emails stating that ‘you will be killed just like Baba Siddique if you don’t pay Rs 10 crore.’ The sender claimed to be affiliated with the D-company and instructed me not to contact the police.”

In response to Siddique’s alarming complaint, local authorities have launched an investigation into the threat and extortion demand, and they are currently in the process of recording his statement. Baba Siddique, a 66-year-old leader of the NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), was tragically shot dead on October 12, 2024, by three assailants outside his son’s office in Bandra East, Mumbai.

Zeeshan Siddique has faced multiple death threats over the past six months, which are believed to be linked to extortion attempts and connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the same group implicated in his father’s murder.

In a related incident last October, a 20-year-old tattoo artist from Noida, identified as Mohammad Tayyab, was arrested for sending eight threatening WhatsApp messages to Siddique’s office. Tayyab, who also goes by Gufran Khan, claimed to have overheard discussions among members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang about plans to harm both Siddique and actor Salman Khan using drones. Authorities later revealed that Khan’s motivations were rooted in an attempt to extort money through false information.

Additionally, another threat emerged when a 56-year-old man from Bandra West, Azam Mohammed Mustafa, sent a message to the Mumbai Traffic Police Helpline demanding Rs 2 crore from Siddique and Salman Khan. Mustafa, who had recently returned from Saudi Arabia and was unemployed, was apprehended within a day of sending the message.

Following his father’s murder, Zeeshan Siddique’s security was significantly increased, and he was placed under ‘Y’ category protection, a government security measure for individuals facing life threats. The investigation is ongoing, with Deputy Commissioner of Police Nimit Goyal confirming that the Bandra Police Station is in the process of registering a formal FIR.
