**Headline:** Karnataka Woman Allegedly Murdered by Lover Over Marriage Demands

A tragic incident has emerged from Karnataka, where a 26-year-old woman was reportedly murdered by her lover after she pressured him to marry her. The accused, identified as 28-year-old Satish Hiremath from Narayanapura village in Gadag district, has confessed to killing Madhushree Angadi, who also hailed from the same village, approximately six months ago.

Madhushree and Satish had been in a relationship for nearly six years. However, when her family discovered the affair, they sent her to stay with relatives in Gadag town. On the night of December 16, 2024, Madhushree left her relatives’ home and was never seen again. A missing person report was filed at the Betageri Police Station nearly a month later, on January 12.

Investigations revealed that on the night of her disappearance, Satish took Madhushree to a farmhouse near Narayanapura. During their visit, an argument reportedly erupted over her insistence on marriage. In a fit of rage, Satish allegedly strangled her with a veil and buried her body near a stream to conceal the crime.

In the months following the incident, Satish maintained his daily routine, working at a petrol pump and claiming he had last dropped Madhushree on the outskirts of town. However, inconsistencies in his story, particularly location data from Madhushree’s mobile phone, raised suspicions among investigators. “A message ping from her phone placed her in a location that didn’t align with Satish’s version,” stated BS Namegouda, Superintendent of Police in Gadag.

Faced with mounting evidence against him, Satish eventually confessed during interrogation and led police to the burial site, where skeletal remains were recovered. However, Madhushree’s skull remains missing, and forensic tests are currently underway to confirm her identity and determine the cause of death.

The police have registered a murder case and are seeking Satish’s custody for further investigation and the recovery of additional evidence. “He buried the body in a way that he thought would never be discovered. Initially, we considered the possibility of elopement, but as time passed without any activity from either party, our suspicions grew. Persistent investigation ultimately led to the resolution of the case,” Namegouda added.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to uncover more details surrounding this tragic event.
