**Tragic Plane Crash Claims Life of 14-Year-Old in Ahmedabad**

A devastating incident occurred in Ahmedabad on Thursday when a 14-year-old boy, Akash Patni, lost his life after an Air India plane crashed into a nearby doctors’ hostel shortly after takeoff. The boy was sleeping under a tree near his family’s tea stall when the London-bound flight transformed into a fireball just minutes after departing from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

Akash’s mother, Sitaben, who was also at the tea stall, suffered burn injuries while attempting to rescue her son from the flames and debris. She is currently hospitalized in the ICU at Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad. In her account, she described hearing a loud explosion and seeing thick black smoke engulfing the area. “The plane crashed behind our tea stall, and there was a loud sound. A massive fire broke out. Nothing was visible. My son was sleeping inside the shop and he died,” she recounted.

Akash’s father, Suresh Kumar, shared the harrowing details of that day. He explained that he and Akash were at home while Sitaben was at the tea stall. Akash had gone to deliver food to his mother and had fallen asleep there. “Suddenly, the plane crashed, and there was a massive fire near our shop. My wife survived and has been hospitalized,” he said, expressing his anguish as he searched for his son, only to learn from hospital authorities that Akash’s body was in the mortuary.

The Air India flight, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, was carrying 242 individuals, including 230 passengers, two pilots, and ten crew members, en route to Gatwick Airport in London. The aircraft ascended to 625 feet before rapidly descending and crashing into the BJ Medical College and Hostel, resulting in a tragic loss of 265 lives, including 241 passengers on board. The sole survivor, an Indian-origin British national, is currently receiving medical care.

This incident marks one of the worst aviation disasters in recent history and the first fatal accident involving a Boeing 787 since its introduction in 2011. In response to the crash, the Civil Aviation Ministry has announced that all Air India Boeing 787-8/9 aircraft will undergo enhanced safety inspections starting Sunday, focusing on fuel, engine, and hydraulic systems.

As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of young Akash and the many lives affected by this tragic event.
