A rumor regarding Daniel Jones has sparked excitement among Pittsburgh Steelers fans as the offseason begins.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are actively seeking a quarterback this offseason, as uncertainty lingers regarding the potential return of Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, or the acquisition of a new player. Earlier in the offseason, the Steelers’ interest in various quarterbacks was highlighted.

Initially, there were rumors that the team reached out to the Jacksonville Jaguars to inquire about Trevor Lawrence’s availability. However, Pro Football Talk later clarified that no such call took place, and Lawrence himself dismissed the speculation during an interview on “Up & Adams.”

Subsequently, the Steelers were linked to Daniel Jones. Andrew Fillipponi, a radio host for 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, mentioned on social media that there was “interest inside the Steelers organization” in Jones, suggesting he could excel in offensive coordinator Arthur Smith’s system.

This reported interest did not sit well with Steelers fans, who voiced their frustrations online. Jones, a first-round pick by the New York Giants in 2019, played under Eli Manning for part of his rookie season before becoming the starter. Over his six seasons with the Giants, he led the team to one playoff appearance and a postseason victory before being released midway through the 2024 season, after which he signed with the Minnesota Vikings.

Throughout his career, Jones has accumulated 14,582 passing yards and 70 touchdown passes, along with 2,179 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns.
