According to a 911 call, Kadarius Toney’s girlfriend was seven months pregnant at the time he reportedly choked her.

A 911 call that resulted in the arrest of two-time Super Bowl champion Kadarius Toney reveals his girlfriend alleging that she was strangled while seven months pregnant. The audio, obtained by TMZ, features the unnamed woman stating that she and the former Kansas City Chiefs receiver were involved in an “altercation,” which reportedly escalated to physical violence. The incident took place on January 14 in Douglasville, Georgia.

In the recording, the woman claims, “He put his hands on me while holding my daughter, and I’m seven months pregnant.” She also mentioned that she made the call from a neighbor’s house after having to “run” from her own residence. The woman indicated that she and Toney, who was a first-round pick by the New York Giants in 2021, lived together.

According to TMZ Sports, Toney is accused of wrapping his hand around the woman’s throat and applying enough pressure to restrict her breathing. He is also alleged to have taken her phone during the incident to prevent her from seeking help. Reports indicate that she had visible marks on her neck and signs of hemorrhaging in her eyes. Jail records indicate that Toney faces one count of aggravated assault-strangulation and an additional charge of obstructing or harassing 911 calls.

Toney was selected as the 20th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft after the Giants traded down from the 11th position. Although he displayed glimpses of his agility on the field in New York, he was traded to the Chiefs midway through his second NFL season, which ultimately benefited his new team. Toney’s standout moment came during the 2023 Super Bowl, where he achieved a record-breaking punt return and scored a fourth-quarter touchdown, contributing to the Chiefs’ victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. However, he was not included in last year’s Super Bowl roster, although he received a ring for his contributions during the regular season. Toney did not participate in the team’s final seven games, including the playoffs.

In the 2024 season, Toney played only three games with the Cleveland Browns, failing to record any receptions.
