After dating for less than a year, Johnny Manziel and Josie Canseco seem to be parting ways. The Heisman Trophy winner and Canseco, daughter of former MLB All-Star Jose Canseco, were first linked last year and made their relationship official in April. However, reports indicate that the couple has broken up.
Both have removed references to each other from their Instagram accounts and are no longer following one another. Just a month ago, they enjoyed a vacation in Aspen, where Canseco shared a public display of affection post.
Canseco previously dated rapper and former college baseball player Mike, who was teammates with Marcus Stroman at Duke. While Manziel and Mike were once close friends, their current relationship status is unclear. Canseco, a former Victoria’s Secret model, has also been linked to Logan Paul in the past.
The news of their breakup emerged on the same day they were both set to attend Travis Scott’s celebrity softball game in Houston. Manziel was selected as the 22nd pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2014 NFL Draft after his standout career at Texas A&M, where he earned the nickname “Johnny Football” and became one of the most recognized college athletes.
Josie Canseco’s father, Jose Canseco, hit 462 home runs during his 17-year MLB career, primarily with the Oakland Athletics. He also played for several other teams, including the Rangers, Red Sox, Devil Rays, Blue Jays, White Sox, and Yankees. In 1988, he was named MLB’s MVP, leading the league with 42 home runs and 124 RBIs, and was part of the A’s team that won the World Series the following year against the San Francisco Giants.
