**YouTuber Missing After Waterfall Incident in Odisha**
A 22-year-old YouTuber from Berhampur, Sagar Tudu, has gone missing after being swept away by a strong current at the Duduma waterfall in Odisha’s Koraput district. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon while Sagar was filming videos of popular tourist attractions for his YouTube channel, accompanied by his friend Abhijit Behera from Cuttack.
Reports indicate that Sagar was using a drone camera to capture footage at the waterfall when he was caught in the powerful current. A video from the scene shows him standing on a rock in the middle of the waterfall, while bystanders attempted to rescue him with ropes. Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful, and he was swept away by the rushing waters.
The situation was exacerbated by the release of approximately 2,000 cusecs of water from the Machakunda dam due to heavy rainfall in the Lamtaput area, which had prompted authorities to issue alerts to residents downstream. This sudden increase in water flow left Sagar stranded and unable to escape.
Despite the immediate response from locals and tourists who tried to assist, Sagar was ultimately carried away by the current. Emergency personnel from the Machkunda police station and the Fire Services Department quickly arrived at the scene to initiate a search operation.
“The ODRAF and fire team have been deployed for the rescue operation. The youth was from Berhampur and was here for a tour. The incident took place yesterday, and we have also informed the family members,” stated the Superintendent of Police, Koraput.
As of now, Sagar Tudu remains unaccounted for, and search efforts are ongoing.
