Infosys is requiring its employees to work in the office for 10 days each month and is implementing “system interventions” to limit the number of days employees can work from home.

**Infosys to Revise Attendance Policy, Mandating In-Office Work for Employees**

Infosys has announced plans to update its attendance software to ensure that employees work at least 10 days a month from the office. In a communication to functional heads, the company stated that this new policy will take effect on March 10, 2025. According to reports, the changes will limit the number of work-from-home days employees can request each month.

To facilitate this, starting March 10, 2025, system interventions will be introduced to restrict the number of work-from-home days that can be applied for monthly. These adjustments aim to ensure adherence to the new hybrid work requirements while still providing some flexibility for employees.

**Who Will Be Impacted?**

This policy will impact approximately 323,000 Infosys employees at job level 5 (JL5) and below. JL5 employees include team leaders, while those in lower ranks encompass software engineers, senior engineers, system engineers, and consultants. Employees ranked JL6 and above include managers, senior managers, delivery managers, and senior delivery managers, but vice presidents are excluded from this requirement.

**Rationale Behind the In-Office Requirement**

Infosys has stated that its hybrid work policy requires employees to be on-site for a minimum of 10 days each month. The company emphasized, “Our hybrid work model expects employees to work from the office for at least 10 days a month, or as per business requirements, whichever is greater.”

Furthermore, the mobile app used by Infosys employees to record attendance will no longer automatically approve work-from-home requests. Instead, employees will be required to log at least 10 days of in-office attendance each month. A senior employee noted that this change is more aligned with project requirements than unit-specific needs.
